Dear Brian, your mother was a kind and gracious lady to the very end. She was a blessing to her family, as you were to her. She will always be with you. ♥️♥️♥️

Pastor Brian I am so very sorry

I continue to not know how to console a minister, so I will just share an observation about my father's final moments

Consider the stripping of the alter on Maundy Thursday. The paraments, the vessals of communion, the ministers vestments. All taken. The church is bare.

At the end of our life everything is stripped away too. You don't wear your own clothes, and are given a gown, you are dependent on others for movement, and piece by piece, every aspect is stripped bare.

But the church despite being laid bare, still has one thing- the tabernacle candle. That is not extinguished. For us, we too have 1 thing left, the promises made at our baptism. Those we keep. Those are the only thing we have left.

And they are certain and true.

I will say a prayer tonight for her and you, and your family, knowing with full confidence, she is drinking the fruit of the vine anew in the kingdom
